Lost In Bookstores

I went to a used book store this weekend. I sorta have this tendency to get lost in bookstores. I love them. As a bonus I got to get lost with one of my oldest and dearest friends. There's something to be said about walking into a bookstore-especially a bookstore filled with used treasures. I love old books. I love books that are worn from reading. Books are magical to me. Not because they may contain stories of magic-but because of the work that went into creating the story, and the emotion that they can create.

I love to pull the books from their shelves searching for a title or a cover that draws my eye. It's my own special treasure hunt. Before I decided on the seven books I chose I was walking around with a cumbersome stack of books. I had to force myself to put back about 4 books but was glad for the ones I did find. I finally completed my Harry Potter collection (for the second time.) I look forward to the day that Michael will be old enough to read them. I also found a few books that were on my "must read" list which included John Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The City of Falling Angels. I also scored a few by Anita Shreve, I've actually not read any of her novels-but I've wanted to and soon, I shall.
